Frost Advisory

Posted

WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Only in Michigan can we go from a high of 94 degrees one day to potential frost a few days later. That is exactly what has happened this week.

This image from our in-house computer model, Future Track, shows forecast low temperatures Friday night. Areas along and north of I-96 are under a frost advisory, while places along U.S. 10 are under a freeze warning.

Although it is rare for temperatures to drop this low this time of year, it’s not unheard of. In fact, it has been even colder than this. Here are the three coldest low temperatures for Grand Rapids on Saturday’s date:

  1. 31 (1999)
  2. 33 (1975)
  3. 36 (1963)

Temperatures will warm quickly on Saturday. For the latest forecast, join us on FOX 17 News or visit the weather page at http://www.fox17online.com/weather
