GRAND RAPIDS, Mich – Another week, another big game for the Muskegon Big Reds. Just 7 days after taking down Grand Rapids Christian, Muskegon gets ready to play Rockford.
The Big Reds (2-0) forced 3 huge turnovers that led to 21 points in a very short time in their win against the Eagles. “Just because you get respect doesn’t mean the job is done, we’ve got to keep working hard, we’ve got to keep on winning or we won’t be respected anymore” Muskegon senior running back and defensive back John Hall said.
Rockford (2-0) boasts a very good defense of their own led by middle linebackers Brent Showers and Randy Garvin. “The guys are eager and hungry to continue to work to get a little better, even though we’ve got 2 under our belt and we have been successful, there is a lot of work to be done” Rockford head coach Ralph Munger said.
Points should be at a premium Friday night at Hackley Stadium in the Big Reds 2013 home opener.
Rockford and Muskegon is the Blitz game of the week. In the Blitz Battle, Mona Shores plays their 3rd consecutive road game to open 2013 when they visit Caledonia.
Both the Sailors and Fighting Scots are unbeaten through 2 weeks, Shores is led by quarterback Tyree Jackson and an explosive offense, while Caledonia has allowed just 7 points in their 1st 2 games of the season. The Fighting Scots won at Mona Shores last season by scoring a touchddown in the final 30 seconds of the 4th quarter.
