Friday Forecast: Sunny & Seasonable

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A chilly start to Friday morning will give way to more seasonable weather in the afternoon around West Michigan.

Temperatures as of 5:00 A.M. Friday were in the upper 40s and lower 50s around most of the FOX 17 viewing area; however, readings as chilly as 42° were found in Big Rapids.  Upper 30s were reported from U.S. 10 northward.

Nearly perfect sunshine through most of the day Friday, along with very dry air in place, will allow temps to climb quickly by late morning, such that most locations will be near 70° by midday.  Highs will end up in the mid to upper 70s in the afternoon.

Conditions will start out a bit warmer on Saturday as some additional clouds start to move in, and a weak cold front will likely generate some scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day.  It won’t be an all-day rain in any location, and a few spots may stay mostly or even totally dry as that system moves through.

Once the front leaves the area, another nice day is expected for Sunday; you can check out the full 7 Day Forecast on the Weather page.
