GRATTAN, Mich. – The Kent County Sheriff’s Department spoke out Tuesday following a FOX 17 report which showed a thick piece of plastic strewn across a busy road.
According to the sheriff’s department, late Thursday, August 22nd there were three 911 calls made by drivers who saw the contraption sitting across Lincoln Lake at 5 Mile Roads in Grattan. But Terry Curtis told FOX 17 he was the only caller who stopped to remove it; in fact, while he was on the phone with 911 a motorcyclist whizzed past him.
Curtis said he was certain that if the plastic was not removed from the roadway, it would have caused a crash that may have killed a biker.
