BERRIEN TOWNSHIP, Mich.- One man was able to walk away from an ultra-light plane crash Sunday morning near Niles. According to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, an ultra-light plane piloted by Brian Bowen crashed into a field east of a home in the 10000 block of Old U.S. 31.
Mr. Bowen had taken off from the Niles Airport and was circling to return to the airport when the engine of his plane stopped running. The plane then crashed into the field.
The plane sustained moderate damage in the crash.
Mr. Bowen was not injured in the crash.
