KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Willie Williams was sentenced to between 80 and 100 years in prison Thursday for attacking and attempting to kill a female corrections officer in September 2012.
Williams was found guilty of the crime July 25 after several inmates testified that they saw him jump from behind a pillar and strangle the officer. She also testified in court, though Williams opted to leave the courtroom for her statements. He will be 101 years old when he’s next eligible for parole with this charge and his previous armed robbery conviction.
