BUCHANAN TWP, Mich.- Berrien County Sheriff’s Deputies are trying to figure out how one boat driver drove into an anchored boat. It happened around 5:30pm on Wednesday, July 2nd. The accident happened on Clear Lake when a teen driver struck a moored pontoon boat.
The teen was taken to Lakeland Hospital in Niles with some scrapes and bruises. There’s no word on how much damage was done to the boats.
After investigating, Sheriff’s Deputies found out the teen didn’t have a Boater’s Safety Certificate; he was cited for that and reckless driving. The owner of the boat the teen was driving was given a ticket for allowing him to drive the boat without a safety certificate.
