BARRY COUNTY,Mich. — The man who Michigan State Police say is responsible for a deadly hit and run has been arrested.
Michigan State Police located Tobias John Bowers at his Hope Township residence. Troopers returned to the house he shares with his girlfriend for a followup investigation this morning and located Bowers. He was taken into custody without incident.
Michigan State Police Troopers were dispatched around 4:40 p.m. to M-43 near Cloverdale Road in Hope Township Sunday afternoon. According to witnesses a pickup truck backing out of a driveway struck a motorcycle. When Michigan State Police arrived they found that the rider had been thrown into oncoming traffic and was hit by another vehicle. The male victim is William Madden, a 46-year-old Hastings man.
