DETROIT, Mich. – Two firefighters in Detroit suffered multiple injuries after bricks fell on top of them while they were trying to get a fire under control.
According to WDIV, crews responded to a liquor store where flames and smoke were seen coming from the building. While they were working to put the fire out, part of the roof collapsed, sending bricks and debris down onto the firefighters below.
One man was on a ladder, and the rubble fell right on his head. A second firefighter was injured at the ground level. One suffered a serious concussion and a broken ankle, and the other had neck and back injuries.
It took more than 35 firefighters to put out the flames.
