Grand River Levels Update: April 29th 2013

GRand River FloodGRAND RAPIDS,Mich. — Grand River levels continue to fall. As of this morning, the water levels have fallen to 14.32 feet; we are below the 18 feet flood stage. Our high level of 21.85 feet was reached on Sunday, April 21, 2013.

The City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant is now fully operational, and City of Grand Rapids is lifting the voluntary water conservation request. The plant has ceased discharges of partially treated disinfected water from our Market Avenue Retention basin.

The State of Emergency will remain in effect until April 30, 2013, when the City Commission will consider an extension to continue damage assessment.

Kent County’s no-contact advisory for the Grand River throughout all of Kent County will remain in effect until further notice. Please continue to use extreme caution on
