THREE RIVERS, Mich — Three men have been arrested for running from police, with a 6-month-old child in the car.
Three Rivers police officers saw a vehicle at Wal-Mart that they thought was involved in a string of thefts from businesses on Monday evening. They waited until the suspects got in the car and started to leave, then pulled the car over. Once the car stopped, the officer asked the driver to turn off the car, and instead he floored it and sped away.
The car finally crashed into a power pole on Constantine Street, and the driver ran away on foot. A police dog helped them find the man in a nearby yard.
Then the officers started looking for the other two men. They found them in a field on Swartz Street near Erie Street, carrying a 6-month-old who had been in the car the whole time.
All three were taken to the St. Joseph County Jail, on multiple felonies.
