The Holland Department of Public Safety says a 16 year old is being held at an Ottawa County Youth Home, facing charges of Illegal Entry and Malicious Destruction of Property.

The teenager was taken into custody around 3:30 a.m. Monday after officers responded to a reported break-in at a building in the 500 block of East 16th Street.

The 16 year old apparently broke a window to get in, and had tagged walls inside the building.  Investigators believe the 16 year old is tied to an additional 13 graffiti complaints at various businesses on South Washington Avenue over the weekend.

Officers add the juvenile, who was previously reported as a runaway, is not a known member of any gang, and the graffiti is not believed to be gang related.
