Ludington Baby Kate 02LUDINGTON, Mich. — The Ludington Police Department will hold a press conference on the “Baby Kate” case Wednesday morning .

Chief Mark Barnett announced Tuesday that the news conference is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Ludington City Council Chambers.

He said information will be released dealing with the investigation of the Katherine “Baby Kate” Phillips case and new information related to the use of forensic methods in the investigation.  Chief Barnett would not give many details, only that the information will have something to do with a “botanical search.”

Sean Phillips was convicted of unlawful imprisonment in Mason County in 2012 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

His daughter, Baby Kate, disappeared in June of 2011. Despite months of searching, she has never been found.

Police have called this a homicide case. However, Phillips has not been charged with murder.
