HOWARD CITY — Thursday, March 28th, Cole Zachary Spears of Howard City was arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that occurred in Howard City.
He is already on probation for a previous sexual assault of a minor. The suspect was a total stranger to the victim.
Police say the assault took place in September of 2012 in the early morning hours and was reported in January 2013. The arrest is the result of an ongoing criminal investigation into Spears.
The suspect was arraigned on April 1st and is currently being held in the Montcalm County Jail.
Anyone with additional information on this crime is asked to contact police, as they are seeking additional possible witnesses to speak with.
