HOLLAND, Mich. – A license plate matching the one belonging to Emelene VanDyke was spotted in New Mexico, according to the Holland Police Department.  On Sunday afternoon, an unmanned license plate reader (LPR) scanned the plates matching the new Hyundai Accent VanDyke reportedly purchased before she disappeared last month.

Police say the photos obtained by the LPR appear to show VanDyke driving the Hyundai Accent along US-70 near Alamagordo, NM.   Authorities in the region were told to keep their eyes open for the vehicle and VanDyke, so far, neither have been located.

VanDyke hasn’t been seen or heard from since Valentine’s Day.  The 36-year-old reportedly told friends she was going on a retreat, and even posted something about an “electronics free weekend” on her Facebook page.

Before her disappearance, VanDyke took a bunch of cash out of her bank account and bought a new car.    Friends tell FOX 17, this is totally out of character for her.
