KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A suspect accused of ramming a police cruiser in Kalamazoo Wednesday wound up in jail for possessing large quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine.
The incident took place when officers from the Community Outreach Problem Solving Division attempted to pull over a vehicle in the 3000 block of S. Westnedge. The COPS said the driver, 33, from Kalamazoo, fled from them as he put his car into reverse and drove through the parking lot at a high rate of speed. That’s when officials said the suspect collided with another driver, then rammed the police cruiser that initiated the traffic stop.
While placing the suspect under arrest, officials said they found over $6,000 worth of cocaine.
The suspect was lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, possession with intent to deliver crack and owner cocaine and malicious destruction of police property.
