Portage Public Schools Asking For Input During Superintendent Search

PORTAGE, Mich — The Portage Public School District continues its search for a superintendent with two community focus groups Monday.

The board wants to know what community members think are the most important characteristics for the next superintendent.

The first is at 10 a.m. at the Central High School auditorium. The second is at 6:30 p.m. at the community room of Northern High School. If you want to contribute but can’t attend a focus group, you can still share your thoughts in an online community survey.

The Board of Education hopes to have the new superintendent in place by July 1. Back on Dec. 14, 2012, the board of education voted to suspend former superintendent Richard Perry, after learning of his relationship with another district employee.
