Chemical Spill Keeps Adrian Residents Indoors

Posted

ADRIAN, Mich. – Officials  in Adrian are asking residents in the area of East Maumee and Gulf street to stay indoors because of a chemical situation.

Roads in the immediate area of the 1330 block of East Maumee are closed.

A barrel containing 30-35 gallons of nitric acid is off-gassing after reacting with a small amount of sodium hydroxide.

The request for people to stay away from the area is a precaution, there is no immediate threat.
