GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Family members of murder victim 34-year-old Jason Cherry say there has been an arrest in the case.

Police confirmed during a press conference Thursday morning that two suspects have been arrested.

Those suspects are Tamaine Lamanuel Foster and Isiah John Latham.

Police believe there may be others involved in the case and are still investigating.

Cherry was killed in late December in the basement of his home while his parents were upstairs.

Police say the two suspects were intending to rob the men who were in the basement.

At the time of the shooting they stole money and marijuana from the victims.

Robert and Celia Cherry heard gunshots and looked out the window to see a man running across their lawn.

They called 911 and when they went into the basement they discovered their son had been killed and three others had been shot.

“Jason was a kind and loving,” said Celia, Jason’s mother. “Well known by everyone. Everybody liked him.

Family members say they want to thank the police for everything they’ve done in this case to find  justice for Jason.

Police are looking for other suspects in the murder. If you have any information on the crime, contact the Grand Rapids Police Department or the Silent Observer program.
