MASON COUNTY, Mich. — A 51 year old man was found standing in his neighbor’s yard holding a shotgun, saying he wanted to kill his neighbor.
The incident took place Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of East Dewey Road in Mason County.
When troopers arrived on the scene, the man was intoxicated and stating he wanted to kill his neighbor. The suspect resisted arrest for a short time.
While the man was being booked in the Mason County Jail, he fought with the corrections officer in the booking area so he was place in a holding cell. In the holding cell the man used a lighter and ignited the toilet paper on fire.
The 51 year old faces charges of assault with intent to murder, discharge of a firearm at a dwelling, felony firearm, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, resisting and obstructing police and arson.
No injuries with the victim, responding officers or the suspect during this incident.
