GR Museums Help Sandy Hook Victims

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Children’s Museum and Art Museum are helping the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy.

This Saturday, $1 of every admission fee will go toward The Ever Wonder Children’s Museum in Newtown, Conn.

The museum is new to Newtown, so Grand Rapids is raising money for the group.

The idea came from the kid of a board director at the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, who wanted to help the grieving children.

Curators told FOX 17 News that building a children’s museum is good for the kids of Newtown because play can help speed up the healing process.

The public museum will have a collection basket out for anyone who wants to donate. There will also be a place to donate extra money for anyone who comes into the other museums.
