GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – To meet the demands of the ongoing, widespread flu outbreak, the Kent County Health Department is opening up a flu vaccination clinic.
The clinic will be open to the public on Thursday, Jan. 31, from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The clinic will be held at the main health department clinic, located at 700 Fuller NE, in Grand Rapids.
Injections will cost $25 and the nasal mist is $32.
It is asked that those wanting to attend the flu vaccination clinic call ahead of time and make an appointment. Call 616-632-7200.
The clinic will bill Medicaid and Medicare. They do not bill private insurance. They also accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard and Discover for payment options.
According to the health department, there has been a slight decline in the percentage of visits to the emergency room due to flu-like illness over the past couple of weeks.
Still, the department said that many people are contacting them regarding the flu vaccine.
