GVSU to Give Six Performances of “The Threepenny Opera”

ALLENDALE, Mich. — Grand Valley State University’s Opera Theatre is preparing to give six performances of “The Threepenny Opera” by composer Kurt Weill and playwright Bertolt Brecht.

The cast consists 30 performers who will be accompanied by a live student orchestra. In addition, the performances will feature guest music director and conductor James Barnett from Chicago.

Performances on Feb. 1, 2, 8 and 9 are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 3 and 10 performances are scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Louis Armstrong Theater on GVSU’s Allendale campus.

Tickets cost $6 for students, $12 for seniors and $14 for adults and can be purchased at the Louis Armstrong Theater box office.
