WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — The coldest temperatures of the season so far have arrived to West Michigan. Although no records were broken, it has been a while since it has been this cold.

The official low temperature in Grand Rapids on Tuesday morning was 2 below. This is just a few degrees from the record low of 6 below set in 1970. It has been almost exactly two years since there has been a below-zero temperature in Grand Rapids. On January 23, 2011, the low was 9 below.
