HOLLAND, Mich. – The commute along US 31 and I-196 proved to be a dangerous one for some drivers Tuesday night.
Michigan State Police closed a stretch of 196 South for a couple hours after a semi jack-knifed and blocked all lanes of traffic in that direction.
In Allegan County, along I-196 South, stranded drivers could be seen near road flares, warning others that spin outs in the white out conditions were a real possibility Tuesday night.
On side roads, near the Saugatuck exit, a van slid on the icy road through a stop sign colliding with another vehicle sending both into a nearby field.
No injuries were reported in the accidents along I-196.
