A woman’s estranged husband is being held in the Kalamazoo County Jail after he threatened to kill her and then himself.
On Friday, a trooper at the Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post received a complaint about receiving death threats from a 39-year-old Kalamazoo woman. She said that her estranged husband had made death threats to her over the telephone while he was in Las Vegas, Nev. The man reportedly told his wife that he was going to kill her and then commit suicide.
The trooper learned that the man would be flying into the Gerald R. Ford Airport in Grand Rapids later Friday so he contacted the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office to obtain a warrant for the man’s arrest. The warrant was obtained and troopers from the Paw Paw Post drove to the airport and arrested the man as he exited the airplane.
Troopers were assisted by Gerald R. Ford Airport police.
The suspect is a 46-year-old Three Rivers man. He is currently being held without bond in the Kalamazoo County Jail on charges of intimidation (stalking) and malicious use of a telephone.
The Michigan State Police are not releasing the names of the suspect and victim.
The incident remains under investigation by the Michigan State Police.
