DETROIT — Ford Motor Company announced that it will add almost 2,200 salaried jobs in the U.S. this year.
This is the highest number of white-collar jobs the company has added in more than a decade.
The majority of the new jobs will be product development, manufacturing and IT positions. These jobs are full-time and include benefits.
The automaker has not disclosed specific locations on where the jobs will be added, but it said that a significant amount of hires will take place in southeast Michigan.
Ford also plans to add more than 2,300 hourly jobs as well as invest $773 million in six Michigan plants by 2015.
