Fight Over Sandwich Leads To Arrest

HASTINGS, Mich. –A fight over a ham sandwich has led to the arrest of a Hastings man.

The incident happened on Dec. 31, in the 800 block of North East Street in Hastings.

Police said a verbal argument started when a man removed a piece of ham from his wife’s ham sandwich, at lunch time.

After a day of arguing, the victim said her husband slapped her in the back of the head, knocking her glasses off. The suspect allegedly told the victim she wasn’t paying enough attention to him. He then left the house.

Police caught up to the suspect, arresting him for domestic violence.

He was taken to the Barry County Jail.
