GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Police have identified the man who was shot and killed Tuesday night, as Darwin DeMarcus Weathers, 34.
Officials were called to the 100 block of Leonard Street on Dec. 25, 2012, at about 7:25 p.m. Upon arriving to the home, police found Weathers in the driveway. Witnesses told police that Weathers was shot inside the home, but collapsed when he fled.
Police told FOX 17 News that Weather’s girlfriend, Taneesha Smith, admitted to shooting him. The two lived together at the home.
Weathers was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, but later died from his injuries.
The victim recently moved to Grand Rapids from Saginaw, Mich.
Smith is being held at the Kent County Jail on open murder charges. She will be charged Thursday, Dec. 27.
