Today's Forecast: Fall feel for back to school, but breezy

WEST MICHIGAN — The forecast from FOX 17 Weather Ready Meteorologist Kara James: We are waking up to a "fall preview" with temperatures in the 50s and low humidity. You may need a sweatshirt or light jacket out the door this morning, including for kids going back to school! Today will be a beautiful outdoor day with sunshine, highs in the mid to upper 70s, low humidity, and a bit of a northwest breeze. Tonight will be cool, in the 50s again, but patchy cog could develop into early Tuesday morning. High pressure will keep us sunny and dry through tomorrow, with highs reaching around 80. Our next rain chance will arrive by Wednesday. Right now the most likely time frame for scattered showers and storms will be later on Wednesday, and into Thursday, with the potential for a few stronger storms Wednesday afternoon and evening. West Michigan is included in the Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) for isolated brief strong to severe storms. The main threats are damaging wind gusts and small hail. The end of the week looks quiet with seasonable temperatures, with another chance for rain this weekend.
