HUDSONVILLE, Mich. — After months of dealing with a detour, drivers on eastbound I-196 in Kent and Ottawa counties will have to deal with it a while longer.
MDOT has implemented changes in the traffic flow in the area. There are no changes for drivers going eastbound on Interstate 196 toward Grandville and Grand Rapids. All traffic continues to be detoured onto eastbound M-6 through November.
However, drivers on westbound M-6 approaching I-196 are now finding significant changes that also continue through November:
- M-6 westbound, no through traffic to I-196 westbound. Must exit at 8th Avenue until Nov. 14.
- The ramp is closed from 8th Avenue to M-6 westbound.
Drivers on I-196 westbound find a lane closure at 32nd Avenue in Hudsonville.
I-196 eastbound has a lane closure from M-6 to the Kenowa Avenue bridge until Nov. 14.
