GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Calvin women's basketball team used a 15-2 run late in the second quarter Wednesday to beat Alma, 70-50, in a MIAA Tournament quarterfinal game at Van Noord Arena.

The Knights trailed by two before the run and ended up leading by 10 at the half (31-21).

Gabby Timmer scored 17 points and Sydney Cleary added 16 for Calvin.

The Knights advance to the conference semifinal to play top-seed Hope (25-0) Friday at 7:30 at Devos Fieldhouse in Holland.
