HOLLAND, Mich. — The NCAA has canceled all winter and spring championships.
That includes the division III women's basketball tournament where nationally top ranked Hope College was set to host a sectional.
"My athletic director walked in and he looked at me, I just knew," said Hope women's basketball coach Brian Morehouse. "I mean, you just start crying, that's the only thing you can do. We respect the decision of the NCAA. We respect what the people with information are telling us to do. We need to go with science in this decision, not emotion, but it doesn't make it easier to talk to your team."
Hope finishes the season at 29-0 and the number one ranking, but the Flying Dutch will never know if they would have been able to win it all.
