HOLLAND, Mich. — Derrick DeVries was virtually unstoppable on Saturday afternoon, scoring 35 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in the 84-59 win over Hope. The Knights have now won five straight in the series.
"These three seniors: Alex Bos, Tony Dewitte, and Derrick Devries have been amazing this whole year," head coach Bill Sall said after the game, "they played like seniors today. We always challenge them to play like seniors and they certainly played like seniors today. It was a lot of fun to see them perform the way they did."
Pending a postseason meeting, it will be DeVries' final game against the Dutch.
"Honestly, it's something that I'll probably take with me the rest of my life," he said. "Playing in these games is so fun and obviously it's even more fun if you can get a win. And like he's talking about, playing with the seniors for four years and everyone else on this team is just a lot of fun and I'll remember it for the rest of my life."
The Knights improve to 12-9 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
