HOLLAND, Mich. — 2,079 fans witnessed Hope College's women's basketball team beat Trine, 59-52, Saturday to win the MIAA title outright and finish off a perfect regular season at 25-0.
"How unbelievable was the Devos Fieldhouse today?" 24th year head coach Brian Morehouse said. "You name me one other school in the nation that had this kind of a crowd today. We out drew division one teams, division two teams, our home crowd showed up and made a difference tonight, unbelievable! It was fantastic!"
The crowd was the largest to see a division three women's basketball this season anywhere in the country.
