GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — South Christian (6-6, 12-7) upset Grand Rapids Christian (10-2, 17-2) on Friday night, 53-35 in the OK Gold rivalry matchup.

Junior Sam Meengs led the way for the Sailors with ten points.

"It gives us some confidence going into the tournament," Meengs said, "our season hasn't been the best, we're a little over 50-percent, but all of our games have been super close. We're looking to go far in the tournament, hopefully."

His father and head coach Jeff Meengs summed the game up fairly simply.

"We shot really well and they didn't shoot very well," Coach Meengs laughed, "that makes a big difference, they had open shots they just didn't hit them."

The Sailors finish the regular season with East Kentwood on Tuesday.
