KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo Central wasn't shy about scheduling tough in their boys basketball non-conference. The Maroon Giants scheduled Benton Harbor, South Bend Riley out of Indiana, Grand Blanc and many others to help them prepare for the postseason. Despite that tough road, Ramsey Nichols' team is now 10-3 and winners of four straight games after Saturday's win against Oak Park.

"The guys enjoy playing with each other," Nichols said, "they've been great teammates, they share the ball, nobody cares who gets the accolades or who's scoring. It's a very close knit group, so we're hoping we can hit our stride in march and can play our best basketball."

Trevon Gunter is one of five seniors on the roster but there's also four underclassmen playing major minutes.

"It helps in the locker room that we have a lot of leadership," Gunter said, "we have guys that have been there before so we can help the younger guys who are moved up to help us win games and things like that."
