Cedar Springs tops Mona Shores for first win

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Cedar Springs boys basketball found a way to win a close game Thursday beating Mona Shores, 49-44, in a Silver Division semifinal of the Cornerstone Holiday Tournament.

The Red Hawks, who has lost their last two games by five points and four point in overtime, saw their 12-point first half lead disappear, before pulling it out late.

Junior Bryce Marvel led Cedar with 20 points, Miles Cartwright added 14 and Nate Webb had 5 and 11 rebounds.

Ahmon Dean lead the Sailors with 18 points.

Cedar Springs (1-3) will play The Potter's House (3-1) in Satruday's 5:30 p.m. Silver Division Championship game, Mona Shores (1-3) will play Oakridge (3-2) in the consolation game at 4 p.m. Saturday.
