Detroit Lions to introduce new GM Brad Holmes on Tuesday

ALLEN PARK, Mich. — The Detroit Lions will introduce the franchise's next General Manager on Tuesday afternoon.

Brad Holmes, the former director of college scouting for the Los Angeles Rams will speak with the media at 4 PM.

Holmes, who will also get the title of Executive Vice President of the Lions franchise, began his NFL career as an intern in 2003 for the Rams before being named the director of college scouting for the franchise in 2013.

"Throughout our search for a new general manager, Brad was someone who stood out immediately," Lions president and CEO Rod Wood said in a statement. "His abilities as a critical thinker, along with his extensive experience implementing technology and analytics into his approach to scouting, were among the many decisive qualities Brad displayed in our time getting to know him during the interview process. We look forward to him helping lead our organization as we take the next steps as a team."

At just 41-years-old, Holmes will be the second youngest General Manager in the NFL.
