GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — May 4 begins Children's Book Week, and the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation is celebrating by releasing a sneak peek at the next book that chronicles the life of the 38th President of the United States.
"Truth and Honor: The President Ford Story" is an illustrated book aimed at school-aged children.
Though the book won't be released until President Ford's birthday, the foundation is offering a virtual look at the stories inside. They partnered with illustrator Matt Faulkner to explain the process he took to bring some of President Ford's biggest life moments.
"Matt will give an inside peek into some of the illustrations of the book, and also talk about like his inspiration, his process, his career as an illustrator and really show kids that might be really interested in illustrating someday what that career is like and for all kids and I think adults too just to kind of get an inside look into Gerald Ford story and how it's told through the book and through Matt's illustrations," says Clare Shubert, Director of Engagement and Programming at the foundation.
You can check out the sneak peek on the foundation's website.
"Truth and Honor: The President Ford Story," written by Lindsey McDivitt and illustrated by Faulkner, will be released on July 14, 2020
