ALLENDALE, Mich. — In-person instruction is being suspended at the Ottawa Area Center due to COVID-19.

The move is effective today through Oct. 16.

Students will be instructed remotely during the period, according to the center today.

The Ottawa Area Center serves students ages 3-26 who have cognitive impairments and is part of the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District.

The decision was made after one COVID-19 case and on the advice of the Ottawa County Department of Public Health.

About 50 students and staff have been quarantined due to potential exposure.
