KENTWOOD, Mich. — The pandemic has created a high demand for people in need of food and other assistance.
The Woodland Mall and Vera Bradley are coming together to collect food items for people struggling to put food on the table.
From now until December 13, you can bring nonperishable food items to the Vera Bradley store inside the Woodland Mall.
Items include peanut butter, whole-grain pasta, macaroni and cheese, rice, dried grains, canned vegetables, fruits, beans, chicken fish, or soup.
The food will then be donated to Feeding America West Michigan.
Woodland Mall is pledging to donate $1 for every food item donated to the organization. Every dollar donated helps provide four meals to people who are food insecure.
Woodland Mall says this cause is something that hits close to home for them because Feeding America helped feed their staff during the beginning of the pandemic.
