GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — If you are heading through downtown Grand Rapids this weekend, take note of a major road construction project!
Starting at 10 p.m. Friday, all Eastbound lanes of I-196 will be closed down at the US-131 interchange.

The highway is not expected to reopen until 6 a.m. on Monday.
MDOT says the detour will involve taking NB US-131 and EB I-96.
