BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. — Berrien County is helping people who are considered essential workers during the coronavirus pandemic find child care while they are at work.

The county's plan asks workers to call 211 or go to Help Me Grow's website and fill out a form. Once information is collected, a local representative will contact them within 24 to 48 hours to help them find an open child care facility.

Essential workers include health care, home health and direct care workers, emergency responders, law enforcement, child care, workers, infrastructure support employees, and several other fields.

Child care locations may be different depending on the needs of each community.
