LANSING, Mich. — The demand for online services from the State of Michigan has increased by a factor of five, so the state’s IT department is making improvements.
The hope is that access to the state’s online services through the “MILogin” portal will be faster.
“We are asking for patience in the face of this unprecedented crisis while we are working around the clock to make it easier to complete online transactions,” said the acting director of the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget in a release. “The state has never experienced an emergency of this magnitude that simultaneously increases the need for services while lessening the ability for personal connections.”
DTMB says the state’s system is used to having around 5,000 transactions an hour. Now that number is around 25,000 transactions per hour.
The MILogin allows citizens to have one login for using many services on Michigan.gov.
