LANSING — We've been asking the Governor's Office all week about rules regarding garage and yard sales as we move into warmer months and the short answer is: there are currently no orders in Michigan that prohibit those types of activities.

So go ahead and thrift away, just use caution and adhere to CDC Guidelines.

Governor Whitmer's Office submitted the following statement to FOX 17 Friday.

“As the state begins to re-engage, the Safer at Home executive order encourages Michiganders to err on the side of caution when considering activities that put them in contact with other people. Everyone should continue utilizing best practices like wearing a face covering, maintaining social distancing of six feet, and hand washing.”
