LANSING, Mich. — The partnership that makes up the Million Meal Challenge is already producing big results.

Support amounting to 1.1 million meals has been generated by the public and the Farm Bureau Family of Companies, based in Lansing. The donations will be forwarded to the Food Bank Council of Michigan, which supports seven regional food banks in Michigan.

Money raised so far amounts to $183,340. Organizers say each dollar means six meals are provided to children and seniors.

Farm Bureau Insurance and the Agent Charitable fund each donated $50,000 matched to donations from employees and other supporters.
