TALLMADGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A wrong-way driver caused a head-on crash that sent a woman to the hospital and deputies say the driver had a child in the car at the time.
Deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff's office say a Grand Rapids man, 29, drove westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-96 near the Marne exit and caused a crash around 10:45 p.m. Sunday.
We're told the wrong-way driver caused a chain-reaction with two other cars, injuring an 18-year-old woman.
Deputies say the suspect picked up the 7-year-old girl in his car and walked away from the scene.
The suspect was eventually located by deputies and arrested and is now facing charges.
