COOPERSVILLE, Mich. — FOX 17 reported last week two Coopersville High Schoolstudents mocked the death of George Floyd by recreating his death in a Snapchat with the caption #georgefloydlivesdontmatter.

Today, the Coopersville Area Public Schools superintendent, Matt Spencer, said the two students in question were not Coopersville High School students.

In a statement to FOX 17 he said, "The incident in question did not involve any students or personnel related to Coopersville Area Public Schools."

FOX 17 has not independently confirmed this but are working with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office to confirm this information.

The student who initially brought the story to FOX 17, Jayden Hill, insists that they are her classmates at Coopersville High School and knows their names.

Hill tells us she has a meeting with Spencer and the Coopersville High School Principal on Monday to further discuss the matter.
