ZEELAND, Mich. — After the Critter Barn put out a call for help to get people to donate cans, the community responded by donating a ton.

The cans will be used when bottle returns are accepted again, to be turned in for money to help keep programming going at the barn located in Zeeland.

With all of these critters and no programming the barn reached out for help as they are in need of food for the animals.

On Saturday, the barn posted on Facebook that it had received a large donation and would stop accepting cans for now.

The Critter Barn is currently closed until the stay-at-home order is lifted, but they're known for teaching the community about farming and agriculture through their classes camps and animal adventures.

The farm is known for its variety of animals from rabbits and chickens to goats and donkeys and the list goes on.

With all of these critters and no programming at the time comes the need for a lot of food.
